SmartOpsMgt is recruiting partners to implement and support SmartOps24x7 based work-in-process materials tracking & traceability systems. Systems integrator partners can also resell licenses to end-user clients.
SmartOps24x7 is a suite of specialized software that tracks materials and work-in-process flow in manufacturing plants, distribution warehouses and other parts of the industrial supply chain. It does this using tracking barcodes or RFID tags attached to each container, serialized part, asset or rolls, reels or sheets of material.
Many materials tracking applications can be met using conventional inventory tracking and warehouse management systems. There is, however, a substantial subset of this market, which exceeds several billion dollars per year in the USA, that require the specialized capabilities of the SmartOps24x7 software.
The SmartOps24x7 software has been developed at a cost of over $3 Million over more than a decade of practical application. Its successful application to a wide range of end-customer requirements has been proven by KnarrTek Inc. ( SmartOpsMgt's sister systems integration company) over the past decade.
While KnarrTek is a successful small company, growing a systems integration company to a larger scale takes a lot of time and faces significant skilled people recruitment and retention obstacles. As such, as an alternative, it was decided to recruit other systems integration organizations, in the US and elsewhere, that have the necessary people skills, to replicate the success we have had with KnarrTek.
For our partners the big benefit is the ability to sell needed software, services, equipment and supplies without needing to invest several million dollars into their own suite of software to meet the needs of this large, but still niche, market segment.
To encourage industrial organizations to use the SmartOps24x7 suite of software, we provide this software at no charge, with licenses for a small number of users. Partners can then purchase additional user or data collection device login licenses at a 25% discount and resell subscriptions for $200/month per user or device login.
Providing the SmartOps24x7 software at no cost, with limited user and device licenses, enables end customers to try out the software operationally at low cost, and then purchase additional logins from our partners when they are ready. As a typical mid-sized manufacturing plant may well use 20 device and user logins, or more, this can result in an ongoing subscription revenue stream to the partner of $48,000/year per plant or warehouse, with the partner keeping 25% as their share.
While this is a nice recurrent revenue stream for our partners, experience has shown that the services to tailor SmartOps24x7 to the needs of each specific customer can easily exceed $100,000 over the first two years. This is a major benefit of this market segment, as performing WIP Materials tracking and traceability almost always requires a substantial level of customization, in addition to paying for training, needed equipment and supplies.
SmartOps24x7 follows Open Architecture principles, which enables end-users and reseller partners to make most needed customizations for most applications. Sometimes, however, changes need to be made that are beyond the scope of Open Architecture. To resolve this issue, SmartOpsMgt is appointing a number of Gold Service partners who have access to the Source Code for SmartOps24x7 and are able to provide these customizations. Please note, however, that being a Gold Service partner does require a high level of support people training commitment by the partner plus a guaranteed minimum annual license revenue to SmartOpsMgt of $100,000 (USD).
SmartOpsMgt's role in all of this is to maintain and distribute the software and associated documentation to its partners and other interested parties. SmartOpsMgt does not provide any support services or engage in collaborative sales and marketing activities with its partners.
For those systems integrators who want to engage in collaborative sales and marketing activities, please contact partner-support@KnarrTek.com. KnarrTek runs a parallel partner program in which it teams with its partners to sell complete turnkey systems and for which it can provide needed support services, equipment and supplies.
